During the last week of September every year, hundreds of libraries and bookstores around the country draw attention to the problem of censorship by mounting displays of challenged books and hosting a variety of events. The 2009 celebration of Banned Books Week will be held from September 26 through October 3.

The purpose of this Web site is to help the public join the celebration of our freedom to read. The easiest way is to visit a participating library or bookstore. Yes, good letter. BTW who or what are these 'founding fathers' I sometimes see appealed to on CM as prime causes, ultimate arbiters and source of the knowledge between good and bad?

I like the letter too Now, about those Founding Fathers, they would be the group of men responsible for the composing and signing The Bill Of Rights and The Constitution Of The United States Of America. In so doing, they began the process of Independence from, you guessed it, The Crown! And to this day their laws hold up. Many attribute this to the carefully worded document. It is said that they were Freemasons. It is also said they were wise and understood human nature very well. Benjamin Franklin and George Washington are two of my favourites

Oh I see. It is ingenious: those who came later attributed value to their words which means that they are wise words from wise men. I love circles.

I like circles too. Based on the Magna Carta and many of their words still challenged today in courts of law today, I think they did an awesome job.
