The foreclosure rate in most major U.S. cities is reaching epidemic proportions. Where I live there are 600 foreclosures per month.

The homeless are taking advantage of this unfortunate event in finding temporary shelter (sometimes with water and electricity still connected). This can be deadly when they use candles for light and start a fire, or drugs or prostitution rings set up there, which attract the police.
