thinkingblue says: Along with, signing numerous petitions and writing letters to our public officials concerning this stupid-make-no-sense-at-all, law we are forced to live under... Still, even though we are sliding into an abyss of financial ruin, STILL, this archaic law stands antagonistically, in our faces, unrelenting and challenging us to break the law. I know we humans have built an enormous (out of control) political machine called "living", but someone, somewhere must poke their conditioned mind outside the culture box and question ... "I think there is something wrong with this picture." Until that time, I will go on signing petitions, writing letters and contributing small amounts to any organization (i.e. MMP) who is unafraid to demand that this law be eradicated and marijuana become available legally... thinkingblue http://thinkingblue.blogspot.com/2009/07/cutting-off-your-nose-to-spite-your.html medical pot is a no brainer. it should definately be available to those in need!!!!! My worries about private growth and consumption are as follows. 1 will the jails re-fill with pot DUI's? you know they will start arresting for pot DUI's 2 will companies take it off the drug testing list? probably not. C will private legalization make it easier for kids to get it? probably so. 4 opening smoke shops seems to be the smartest thing to do but we are a car driving nation. Again pot DUI's. E if the govt takes it over and sells it like alcohol, will the quality drop? probably so. Will they put additives in it? Probably so? 6 if the govt takes it over and sells it like alcohol, I don't... Oh yea did you know the govt already holds patents for a variety of pot? On the one hand, United States federal government officials have consistently denied that marijuana has any medical benefits. On the other, the government actually holds patents for the medical use of the plant. Just check out US Patent 6630507 titled "Cannabinoids as antioxidants and neuroprotectants. I don't know if I'll live long enough to ever see it legalized but then I never thought I'd ever see public opinion about it change so much either. |
