Tungurahua, which means "Throat of Fire" in the native Quichua language, is 80 miles south of the capital, Quito. It last erupted in August 2006 and has been rumbling and belching rock, gas and ash since January.

Part of The Ring Of Fire, a series of volcanos encircling the Pacific Rim. Given all that is going on in the natural world, let alone the political, just what we need in the coming years is increased volcanic activity essentially around the globe. Wouldn't that be a picnic? (No, I'm not being Chicken Little, just letting the imagination flow.)

BartendingBear, your forecast is very likely to become true in the nex few years - the signs of it have already been here for quite some time. So, we have climate change + new solar active period + significantly increasing volcanic/seismical activity in hand. What a picnic.
