Let's see now: Iraq, which had caused us no harm, led by Saddam Hussein, whom we had paid while in power, lost, perhaps, a million of its 25 million people, and 5 million were displaced. We sent 4,000 soldiers to their deaths to do this. Because "the danger was inaction could have resulted in the death of a great many more Americans than 4,000." From what? Bird flu? Taking out our 9/11 wrath upon some country with an army that fought back? Getting duped by Osama into something even more stupid and self-destructive? "And that's the reason I'm still delighted that we did what we did." Uh-huh. Some days it makes me physically ill. I'm really not big on "justice" but something needs to happen to address the egregiousness of this insult to democracy. I'd settle for humiliation but in Cheney's case that would not be achievable. He is one of the most malignant narcissists to which I have been subjected. Just vile. Truly repulsive. |
