"Microsoft had planned an extremely overwhelming consumer response." They did get an overwhelming response and it was negative. Which is exactly why I don't plan on switching from XP to 7 until I have rock solid proof it is what Microsoft claims it is. Microsoft lost a lot of credibility by trying to pass off Vista as an 'improvement' over XP. For a start, they did not say that most of us would have to upgrade our machines to use it fully. I will wait too. I only switched from ME to XP last year. XP has served me fine; it's all I've ever known. There'd have to be some serious reasons for me to change from what's worked quite well to something unfamiliar. |
