I sure hope that sending more troops to Iraq improves this situation. Just doesn't seem like any progress is being made...yet many are dying along the way.

I honestly, after giving the matter a great deal of thought, do not see how introducing more troops into this civil war is going to improve anything. We are just sending some more of are youngest and finest into this hell hole with targets painted on their backs.

Even the American people who supported this war initially did not sign on to fight a civil war in Iraq. The Bush administration has handled this entire misbegotten adventure so poorly that it is a lost cause. By sending in more troops we will just foment more sectarian violence, and provoke the insurgents even further. The Iraqi government itself, and the commanders on the ground, before Bush fired them, said they did not want ...

First, there isn't a civil war in Iraq. Second, what do you think will happen there if we pull out? Third, it isn't just the surge, there is also a change in the rules of engagement which should make a much bigger difference than even the surge. There is no guarantee this will work, but there is a 100% chance that declaring defeat and retreating won't work.

The bottom line. Indisputable.

What do we care now ...

1. that our goals turned out to be wrong
2. we are safe knowing there are no WMDs in the country
3. it isn't our country in the first place

A: Darfur

Then George Clooney could have his day again.

Obviously you have misguided notions and lack of sensitivities towards fellow human beings, just in case if FOX isn't telling you, we invaded a country full of human beings right here on Earth, we're not talking about aliens being killed on Mars. Perhaps the headline should have been Ugly days in Iraq because the opposite of ugly is non-existent in a country which has seen constant 911's on daily basis ever since we have invaded them for our own selfish good. You think you can tolerate these bombings anywhere here in US? Have any idea how it feels like to live normally?

Proof killing ( and in your context murder ) is relative to you.

What in the world are you talking about wilhelm? Is that some secret lingo from your bovine schatological world? Why is killing relative to me? Do you have anything to say on the senseless deaths of so many Iraqis, regardless of who was responsible for cause and effect? Do you have anything to say on where the souls of these unnatural death going to go in the hereafter, given that they didn't get a chance for salvation in this world (your context), do you have anything to say on why we care so much about someone else's country that we are sacrificing our own people for it?

I was just responding to your senseless and irrelavent rant on me. Initially I was just answering the question about what would happen if we left Iraq.
If you're too closed-minded to accept the comments of opposing views, perhaps you should block my comments and go back into your cave of feelgoodism.

And what do you think will happen if we leave? It sounds to me like you are the one putting politics above human life.

Nothing will happen if we leave, at least nothing that would be any of our concern. Arabs have lived in the Middle East since ages, they can deal with their dictators and despots. We can leave and we should leave, to mind our own business. But you won't see that happening because of two very cliche'd notions: Zionism and Oil. The problem is in our not leaving. Ever wonder what the most powerful nation have to worry from a band of thugs gathered by a person who's family owns a construction business? Your guess would be as good as mine.

You don't have to like my reasoning, I call it the way I see it.

And I call it like I see it. You are putting your hatred of Jews and capitalism and Bush ahead of the lives of those who you don't deem worthy of your concern.

I knew it was coming! Zionism is not Jew and Jew is not Zionism. Read the facts from the history before you accuse people with stereotypes. I understand your urge to defend. Anyway, I don't wish to make this a topic on Jews as it so often becomes the moment you spell the word. Above I have used my words carefully to distance myself from those who hate Jews for the sake of hating (and did I mention Bush and Capitalism anywhere? Am I reading your mind or what). Perhaps you automatically associate Bush and Capitalism with Oil. A moment of truth maybe

I, apparently unlike you, respect opposing views. Although I disagree with your term of choice: "reasoning".
