Because they ruin the movie in the trailer and there really nothing new out there.

I know I sound like a woozie, but I'm not and vampire movie have always scared the crap out of me, especially Salem's Lot.

I loved Salem's Lot. Haven't seen it in ages now though .. I know plenty of people who don't share my love of the sick and twisted. lol I just chalk it up to another one of the quirks passed on to me by my family of freaks!

I loved Salem's Lot.
That was one movie that was, in my opinion, actually scarier than Steven King's novel, Carnival! My daughter loves horror flicks

I also liked Needful things. And I loved Steven King's novel "Christine", but I hated the movie. Ditto For Pet Sematary. I loved Kathy Bates in Misery.

I suggest Ravenous.

If someone were to ask what Ravenous is all about, the easiest thing to say
would be: `It's about cannibalism in a remote Army outpost in the 1800s.'
But Ravenous is not just a horror story. What lies at its heart is an
allegory about man's relationship to other men and how society structures
itself around the powerful and the powerless. Issues such as the morality
of Manifest Destiny and even the ethics of simple meat eating are touched
upon.

I suggest Ravenous.
Freakin awesome movie!

Also, I just wanted to say, although it may be a case of interpretation .. I took this clip to mean the news is scarier than the things we come up with, and it would be nice to be in a time where that wasn't the case again.

Although looking internationally for good horror is a good idea too. Lots of creepy stuff doesn't make it over to North America.

though not hard core horror fan, your title did move me .. )) its a well legitimate complain !! as 4 myself, i turned backword watching classics.. not much horror but u may find excellent thrillers like those of Hitchcock 4 exmp. lately i watched "the rear window" from 1954 and it was still a masterpiece.
Good night & Good luck

Hitchcock is excellent. I really enjoyed Rear Window. All the movies mentioned here were good ones in my opinion. Except I didn't actually see 1408

CarnivalBorn we might be two of a handful that saw Ravenous. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought it was good.

The Birds really creeped me out.
