No Problem, Times should've linked the name to recent news stories about the individual(s).

How many times has Bill Gates been on the cover of Time Magazine ?

Time Magazine named Gates one of the 100 people who most influenced the 20th century, as well as one of the 100 most influential people of 2004, 2005 and again in 2006. Gates and Oprah Winfrey are the only two people in the world to make all four lists. Time also collectively named Gates, his wife Melinda and U2's lead singer Bono as the 2005 Persons of the Year for their humanitarian efforts. That same year he was made an honorary Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II. In 2006, Gates Foundation was awarded the Premio Príncipe de Asturias en Cooperación Internacional. In a list compiled by the magazine New Statesman in 2006, he was voted eighth in the list...

Apparently 8 Times (Wikipedia)

Anyway, here's a link with the People of the Year.

Look at the people who previously were Person of the Year and Ahmadinejad would fit right in.

Who Should Be Person of the Year?
TIME's Person of the Year is the person or persons who most affected the news and our lives, for good or for ill, and embodied what was important about the year. Who do you think fits the bill this year?

Based on that, and the options, I voted for Bush.

I would've voted for Girija Prasad Koirala if presented the option (if judged by joany's criteria)

Yes, I would vote for him, remarkable achievements.

During his fourth term, Mr Koirala tabled legislation to strip the King
of his powers and sought to bring the Army under parliamentary control
through the new Military Act. Both measures passed overwhelmingly. On
November 7th, 2006, Mr Koirala and the leaders of the SPA signed an
agreement with the CPN (Maoist) to end the insurgency and hold
elections to a constituent assembly. On November 21, 2006, Mr. Koirala
signed the landmark Comprehensive Peace Accord with Maoist and rightly
declared, "Politics of violence, terror has ended."
