Life is turning into a mediocre science-fiction movie and our remote control is out of batteries. Israeli defense firm VIPeR has developed an army of small cyborgs that can enter combat zones and exchange fire with enemies. Fortunately for the survival of our species, the 'bots need to be controlled by a human and don't act and feel on their own. That must be for version 1.2.</P></blockquote><div style="height: 2px; font-size: 2px; background: #dcdcdc; border-bottom: solid 1px #f5f5f5; margin: 2px 4px;"></div><blockquote style="text-align: left; padding: 0px 8px; margin: 4px 0px 8px 0px; background: transparent; border: none;" cite="http://blog.scifi.com/tech/archives/2007/03/08/cyborg_army_bei.html"><P>I've got to admit, I'm skeptical about how well this would actually work. I have yet to see any type of robot, <A href="http://blog.scifi.com/tech/archives/2006/11/07/pleo_returns_ug.html">working on its own</A> or <A href="http://blog.scifi.com/tech/archives/2007/02/23/spyke_robot_hom.html">remote-controlled</A>, that can maneuver with anything resembling ease. These things are still clunky and awkward, and I can't really imagine an army of them maneuvering with the agility needed to handle a real battle. But hey, I guess we'll see. Someone get the popcorn, will ya? <SPAN class="Byline">— Adam Frucci</SPAN></P></blockquote></div><div style="margin: 0px 6px 6px 4px;"><table style="font-size: 11px;border-spacing: 0px;padding: 0px;" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%"><tr><td style="background:transparent;border-width:0px;padding:0px;"> </td><td align="right" style="background:transparent;border-width:0px;padding:0px;width:107px" width="107"><a href="http://clipmarks.com/share/BF8F2D03-FB52-4F9A-99DE-7925DE08E27D/blog/" title="blog or email this clip"><img src="http://content9.clipmarks.com/images/c2b-foot.png" border="0" alt="blog it" width="107" height="17" style="border-width:0px;padding:0px;margin:0px;" /></a></td></tr></table></div></div>
