It is also home and a cultural center for several indigenous Alaskan communities.
Such a place should not be despoiled by fossil fuel development, not at a time when America is in transition to cleaner, renewable energy, and not when so much of our wilderness and wildlife hangs in the balance.
We, the undersigned, urge you to create a comprehensive science-based conservation and energy plan for America's Arctic. This plan should include a comprehensive assessment of the resources at risk in the Arctic and the impacts that drilling would have.
