Who wouldn't love a plate of heart-shaped sugar cookies from someone they care about? I have a terrific sugar cookie recipe that isn't too sweet and holds its shape well when baking.

I really love sugar cookies, the artistry of it all. I don't especially like eating them, but that makes it so much easier to give them all away.

I encourage you to give away some cookie love to a friend or neighbor that might need a lift. It doesn't have to be hearts (although, look how sweet they are!) or even sugar cookies, or even cookies at all.

I have a squirrel and an acorn cutter that I am dying to use. Maybe this weekend? Yes.

As I've said in comments before, my maternal side of the family used to have a famous bakery and I have all the old recipes, but I don't give them out--family secret thingy

I do have a large assortment of really old cutters passed down, and it's very interesting to see the popular cookie cutter styles of years ago.

I love unusual cutters. I just don't have a place to store them all.

I like both, receiving and giving cookies as gifts. The best parts about giving cookies is that almost everyone likes them, it's fun to make them and they don't take up any room in the house, so it's less clutter for the recipient.

It's also autumn now, so it's holiday cookie time...oh the smells!!
