After a four-year break during which he worked on the comic book series “Iron Fist” for Marvel, author James Mullaney has returned to working on the most recent in “The Destroyer” adult fiction series, with series co-creator Warren Murphy.

“Over the past few years, the series has drifted away from its foundation,” the Leominster resident observed. “The books that were produced weren’t true to the original concept.”

The adventure series, which has been published for three decades, was created by Warren Murphy and Richard Sapir. Mr. Mullaney credits the series creators with coming up with a dynamite combination of characters who play out fantastic adventures on a world stage, all with a good dose of humor.
