The immaturity and ingratitude of much of the world regarding the US troubles be for very rare and fleeting seconds. I'm trying to remember the last time. I think it might have been sometime in the late nineties.

That sounds like we are always right and they are always wrong sort of thinking, GD.

Wow GD ... now you're not just smarter than all of us, you're smarter than 52% of the world's population too! Amazing.

Well, since I saw nothing about "hatred" in the article (only in ekor's description), I would say part can be attributed to people like ekor.
Bear in mind also it was a BBC poll.

This quote attributed to Benjamin Disraeli from the 1941 movie The Prime Minister seems appropriate for consideration here.

In an autocracy, the leader is the people. Europe is at the mercy of the most ruthless band of autocrats the world has yet seen. I know these dictators, these men of blood and iron, they have one weakness; they are always in a hurry. Their god is power, and its kingdom is on this Earth. They are men without humility and without hearts. The virtues we hold dear they call weaknesses, and what we love they despise. They hold themselves a race apart, divinely ordained to rule the world to the exclusion of all others. That is a form of madness that must eventually de...

Wasn't Germany quite popular before WWII? Popularity means squat.

You're saying the US is the mommy and the rest of the world is the little children? That's cute.

Quite often they behave that way, yes. Wasn't meant to be cute, but thank you. It's very trendy on the left to bash anthing pro-US, it's become a world wide phenomenon.

So basically what you're suggesting is that a half a species has started bashing the US for no better reason than that it's a trendy phenomenon?

Let's assume for a second that it's not a trendy phenomenon... if everyone so 'hates' America - why in the he** are they all trying to immigrate here? Take a look at the stats on the Green Card Lottery held every year. Don't look at how many people got it - look at how many applied. And we're not talking Mexico here (they don't quality anyway).

Some people say that it's not the US that they don't like, but Bush (which actually is US as far as the world is concern at this point in time), but that aside - what it is that they like then? They like the benefits US offers and that's a legitimate like - there are many benefits, opportunities etc. So, if those are the only things they like - ...

Americans need to decide if they want to remain a constitutional republic or slide completely into socialism. The Europeans and many clipmarxists would like us much more if we weren't evil capitalistis.

What we need to do is worry more about America and Americans...
I'm all for it, but first, we need to get out of other countries. Hopefully you understand why.

arifsali, you know that's not a realistic endeavor. We can't simply pull out from everywhere... I was hoping you would understand why.
