zasel says:
Republican Congressman Bill Sali says having a Muslin in the House of Representatives and a Hindu prayer being offered in the Senate just goes too far. The only way to maintain the U.S. is to stand by its founding Christian principals and to ask for the grace of the Christian God. The Hindi and Muslim Gods are different and do not count in our political system. Are we still wondering why the rest of the world is laughing at us and why the Muslim world hates us?

Gee... now if we really did follow the notion of the separation of church and state, and didn't have an invocation. none of this would ever see the light of day? Funny the way the system works, when it isn't perverted by religion.

Way to go Bill! Just when people start to forget about the white supremacists in Idaho, he opens his ignorant mouth.

It would be nice if the hand of God would just come down,
And slap the crap out of this guy.

Mathew 5:22 But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to his brother, 'Raca,[An Aramaic term of contempt]' is answerable to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who says, 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell.

Of course, none of these fundamentalists can ever explain how Muslims worship a different God and yet honor many of the same prophets as Christianity and Judaism. And I'd like to see one example of how any of the Founding Fathers were actually evangelical Christians. They like to point to the Great Awakening of the middle of the 18th Century, but I'd like to see one iota of evidence that this largely working class and rural movement had any effect on the elites who actually wrote the Constitution.

Speaking of which, it would also be nice if they could show me where in the Constitution there's a religious test for public office. Of course, they can't, because IT DOESN'T EXIST.
