YES! Look what we could have provided our citizens without this blood for oil war.

Tell me why taxes aren't more of a damn moral issue. I'll tell you why, pure greed and there's nothing Christian about that at all.

Too many American's want a free ride. They want safe highways to zip around on but they don't want to pay for the construction or maintenance on them. They want schools and libraries for their kids, parks for their family picnics, police and fire departments to protect their homes, but they don't wanna dig in their own damn pockets to make them available.

Well, GUESS WHAT? Community don't work like that, our government costs money, and I want to see it for the betterment of our citizens--and that means comprehensive health care.

It's curious that "conservatives" are so concerned about the "free ride" perception of social services funding that they won't consider progressive means of providing them for the risk of the "slippery slope" to Communism or Socialism. Yet many easily accept the schools, parks, police , safety services and Medicare as "rights" without considering that their holy grail of slashing taxes will compromise these benefits, especially for the needy.
I agree that corrupt and wasteful government should be thwarted but there needs to be a dialog to address specific and efficient means of providing these essential services, health care included, without the waste and political miasma.
Hope you're doin' better deb.

Anyhoo, on to the business at hand.

I have lived under both the U.S system and the Canadian. Both countries offer cutting-edge, excellent care. The main difference being that in Canada there is no profit motive. Everyone is entitled to and receives the same excellent care no matter their financial circumstances. I literally become nauseated when I hear some of the U.S. politicians sneer at our system in Canada and refer to it is "socialism." Well so what? Medicare is socialism, as is the VA. The fact is that the politicians in the U.S. are trying to save the profits of the insurance companies that keep the...

Hey Michael!

As always your comments are very astute and informative. I agree with you!

No worries, I am on the mend, it's just allergic tracheitis along with some laryngitis; I usually don't get it in the spring though, only fall.
