The romantic angle in this story, along with the game aspect, sensationalize it and make a joke of the fact that the woman faces legal penalty. Think for a moment how any of us here would feel if our accounts were taken over for false posting, defacement, or simple deletion. Likely we too would find legal recourse an appropriate outcome. If convicted, she could face up to five years in prison or a fine up to $5,000.Any questions of accountability or proportionality aside, is it me or does $ 5000 seem like a ridiculously small price to pay compared with five years behind bars? Okay, it's annoying for something like that to happen, but not illegal. She must've done something worse. |
