I'd like to hear other clippers opinions on this issue. Is this an invasion of privacy? Is technology increasingly becoming too intrusive?

Oops .... quite uncomfortable about this degree of observation.

I think most people would, unless of course they are exhibitionists

Man that is not cool at all. I mean, giving people access to amazingly accurate and detailed information to make their lives simpler is one thing, but then, there is definitely a line that has been crossed here.

Take a slight step back Google!!!

I'll jump in here and say that I feel very uneasy about this. I have nothing to hide, but the idea that I could appear on the net without my knowledge gives me the creeps.

Folks are really getting into it, and making links to various sightings.

what had google in mind when offering this service who are their main customers and how come theres no laws against this to protect peoples privacy and their consent.
I know google foundation do a lot of good work and I seen the two founder's video on ted http://www.ted.com/ but this is just too much power that could be used for unhealthy voyuerism

Sounds like the newest version of porn is about to break out.
Just imagine what the government can see with infared.
They also have audio capeabilities that are equally as precise.
Google can't see thru your walls and roofs but the govt can.

This really is Toonces the driving cat ... He was trying to lay low because of too many tickets, hit and runs and well ... driving without a license. Thanks to Google, he has been found... http://www.catass.com/toonces/

I find Google a little creepy, period. As I understand it, everything we do on Google is permanently archived. Surely these archives will one day find their way into the hands of people of power who want to knock others out of their way. It has always been that way with secret files in the USA.
