Steve Vaughn, director of the department, told the Indiana Daily Student newspaper that the agency will do nothing about the incident since a minor girl was not actually involved. Vaughn told the IDS that, had the situation involved an actual teenager, the department would target the employee for potential prosecution, not Planned Parenthood. Failure to report the crime is a misdemeanor punishable under state law by a maximum of 180 days in jail and a $1,000 fine and the county prosecutor's office could file charges in the case but a Bloomington city official told a newspaper that won't happen. The Bloomington, Indiana Planned Parenthood facility in question is the same business that issued Christmas gift certificates that could be used to pay for abortions. |
