I bet if you ask the Kurds or the Iranians that they would tell you the WMDs damn sure did exist. On top of that, the UN documented the WMDs and knows how much is missing (assuming he accumulated no more than what he had). The question is, where did they go? Did Clinton get lucky and destroy every single WMD in Iraq with a few missile strikes? Did Saddam destroy them but not keep any records of it (even though inspectors said he was good at keeping those kind of records)? Did someone under Saddam destroy them and not tell Saddam? Were they destroyed as we invaded? Were they moved out of the country before or as we invaded? Did he h...

Did he hide what amounts to a garage full of materials in a country the size of California (we did find entire aircraft buried)?

I think finding out what happened to those WMDs is very important. Hopefully they were destroyed at one time or another, but it is possible they are still out there somewhere. I would prefer we do our best to find out what happened to them and not just assume they no longer exist until one day when they jump up and bite us in the ass.
