thinkingblue says: We are no longer a country “of the people, by the people” we are a country of “the big business/big lobbies, by the big business/big lobbies”. They are the true owners of this land and greed will continue to step on and over those who outnumber the greedy few at the top, millions of times over. Even when they flagrantly and arrogantly fail, they succeed and go on conducting their greed in the same manner. God bless America, MY FOOT!" thinkingblue Let's keep our heads, while we continue to watch THE THEATER OF THE ABSURD!!! Carolyn aka thinkingblue So you hold the successful to be the problem? Should we all strive to be unsuccessful and strive for the government to take care of us? Try Russia, China or Cuba if that is what you want. The reason many people do not have health care is because they have not been successful. Who do you blame for that? You know how much my Mom's chemo cost Jay? Thank God for medicare which is a social benefit just like our public school system, the roads you drive to work on, the public libraries I grew up reading in every day, the police force & fire department that you are able to call to protect your home, the forests and park we enjoy, etc. I'd rather have my tax money spent on our citizens then this oil war that we should have liberated ourselves from long ago by developing alternative energy. I'd rather see our infastructure improved. I'd rather see a cure for cancer. And I'd rather see corporate welfare abolished. Thanks debbyski, you said it all. I no longer wish to comment on anything those with their heads in the sand, say. It's always the same old chant anyway. Someday, sooner or later, one-by-one, their so called SUCCESS will dwindle and they will find themselves in dire straits just like their "unsuccessful" brethren. And if the fates are just, there will be no safety net to help them during those hard times. I feel sorry for anyone who can only think of others in judging terms (i.e. successful/unsuccessful). What a sorry-ass futile life. When communism is carried to its extreme, the state controls the means of production and the will of the people is suborned to maintaining that production. When capitalism is carried to its extreme, the means of production controls the state and the will of the people is suborned to maintaining that production.
