The last time we overthrew a government one of the main cries was 'taxation without representation.' I would say that a system that allows increasing taxes without your representative getting a chance to vote would be the exact same thing.

Politico posted an update saying that the Democrats have withdrawn the rule change under intense pressure from Republicans and others.
