this is really entertaining. I thought this is only fought over biological theories. Absolutely hilarious, those creationists... just keep them over on your continent

This is a charming and well made clip, and its thoroughness earns my respect. I am also intrigued by the observation that creationist arguments tend to presume static rates of change. In fact, the presumption that the universe is essentially a static system is at the very core of the creationist beliefs. This is the presumption that the earth was created as it was, or at least, as best it could be imagined by the authors of the ancient Near-Eastern civilizations. It is not just that they use this line of argumentation because it is easy or to some persuasive, I believe it genuinely reflects the essential characteristics of their world view.

In another note, thanks "laceym" for bringing Al the Atheist to my attention. The world could always use more people of this reasonable disposition. I belive he actually rises above the recent books by Hedges, Dawkins, and Dennet, who made sense to me, but I fear only inflamed the people who did not already agree with them.
