I received my first knife when I was in Cub Scouts, took it every where with me, became an Eagle Scout and I still have that knife, I'm 54 and international business owner and never go anywhere without a pocket knife, I just check when I travel.

Lighten up, he's six, what's he going to do,,,,,,,, whip it out and demand a 2nd cookie at snack time.

this happened to my daughter, with a manicure set. Which she had giving back to a old friend, and the girl had it in her backpack for 3 weeks. Both girls were suspended and they wanted to kick both out of school. We met with the school board with about 25-30 friends and family to support us. They sent her back to school the next day. My daughter did not think it was a weapon and it actually was smaller then what the code of conduct book read. They need to really consider the punishment for these things.
