Time's list of "people who mattered" in 2007 is long and varied. My personal favorite is Eduardo Arias, the Panamanian who started the ball rolling on exposing tainted Chinese imports.

How? He read the ingredients on his toothpaste label, and found the chemical compound for antifreeze. Could you do that?
