What about the men involved? Just typical of the attitudes of religions.

Just typical of the attitudes of men! There wouldn't be prostitutes if there weren't clients. And to those retarded criminal bastards, religion is just the veneer they use to legitimate their barbaric actions.

What words describe this habit of maddening, impudent side-stepping?
I just can't put my finger on it with sufficient intensity.

Every time the streets are wet, I just shake my head, look my friend in the eye, and express my dismay at the unchallengeable notion that the street cleaners are running far too often and , sadly, that is just their nature.

It is not just Islam that does things it should not be doing. The right wing Christians of this USA a guilty of doing many things they have no justification to be doing. Granted, most of them are not doing things as extreme, most of the time, but they are doing the same thing that the idiots who chopped the head off the lady, forcing a set of standards on other people that they have deemed to be what God wants. The right wing Christians are doing their wrong things with the same flawed justification that these idiots use justify chopping off this poor womans head and it is just as wrong.

No human has the right, justification or authority to decided what God wants or commands and then dictate this to any other human. Why? Because no human can prove to any other human anything about what God, what he says, commands, expects, etc.

Just a few thoughts-
-If there were never any prostitutes murdered in the US, then the religious issue would potentially hold water; however, because this is just one manifestation of misogyny (that exists worldwide), religion is relevant only to the extent that it serves to make the issue appear to be "Pakistani-only" or "Islamic-only."
-Women, are consistently brutalized in the name of culture/religion/etc. Each country may have its "local style" for crimes against women and customs related to the oppression of women- but to blame the culture or the religion is to sidestep the larger issue of patriarchy* (not a synonym for man-hating either, see below) world-wide.

jessiebg- I completely agree with you. There are many other sytems of control and opression in each culture.

A major motivation for such deep commitment to religion is power, the oppression of women being only a portion of objectives.

Some will try to claim that it is not religion but bad people misusing religion and I say they are wrong. Oppression is build into these religion. It is a major component of them. I would even argue it is the main objective of religion. The religions justify their oppression through their claim of authority by way of God. They claim authority to make demands of people by proclaiming that God says this is the way things are. They are wrong for attem...

Kudos to jessiebg, very well said!
It is misogyny, disguised as "religous interpretation", the witch trials were much for the same reason, the patriarchal beliefs that Puritans held heralded many of these accusations, women, they believed, should be totally subservient to men, when they acted independently, they were tried and sometimes burned, drowned, or hung.

It is normal for fanatic Muslims. They have already lost respect from better persons throughout the globe. We should better keep condemning them and also always
try to bring them to judtice.
