I was proud of the fact that I rose above my small town mindset. Then I moved to the city and found reality. I have been accused of being racist when I asked employees to do their jobs. Accused when trying to help an employee follow the rules that all employees are expected to follow. Accused when I TALKED to a child. Accused when I demanded that a clerk wait on people in order. I was also denied employment based on the color of my skin (they had quota to deal with). The list goes on and on. Apparently the fact that my ancestors came to America as indentured servants (slaves) doesn't count. All that matters is that some white people centuries ago, ha...
