There is fear and powerlessness felt, because world events seem to be beyond our control. We are losing faith in ourselves, and our ability to make decisions. We have the apparent ability to make decisions on insignificant matters, but all of our decisions concerning critical issues, can seem to be decided in default by Authorities who eliminate one or more options through law, regulation, or social stigma. They make decisions on issues that are covering more aspects of our lives.
One of the contributors to Existential void, is when we have our decisions made for us to the point where we give up, submit to Authorities, the right to decide what we want as people, and believe what we are doi...

It seems to me that if you look for meaning you will find it, if you are bored with life you are not really living and do not deserve to live a life with meaning anyway.... that being said, one should seek out new experiences that challenge the consciousness and expand the minds eye... I am not talking about drugs, but 'peak experiences' that force you to take a new perspective on life... something as simple as a trip to a far away city can change your whole life.

How much sun can one soak up...doing nothing...and remain happy? A lifetime of chaise-lounging is not the answer for anything! I wou...

Need to distinguish between 'The Void' as a stimulating intellectual concept and its usage by such as Kierkegaard, Bataille, Rimbaud etc. The latter 'authentic' void burns through all consoling concepts, ideation itself, ecstasies and 'feeling good'. It is the utterly isolated subjective experience of abdonment of hope, society, morality etc. etc. Cf. St John of the Cross, Dante, Durer, Tillich etc etc etc
