Doctors do not deserve the place they hold in our minds. They really no longer truly understand the body, nor are much interested in fostering the health of a patient. Many doctors are just sales reps for drug companies in disguise, and many more just go through the motions to make money, not really getting involved or thinking about what they are seeing in the patient.

Its time we reduce the authority we give doctors and spread it around to other health care practioners - including natropaths, massage therapists, nutritionists, personal trainers and dieticians.

I agree whole heartedly with kinokonoko. I am currently studying Holistic nutrition and Naturopathy. As wonderful as modern Medicine can be it is certainly not the answer as indicated by the following
Heart disease and cancer death rates have increased by more than 200% - 300% in the past 100 years and the incidence of heart disease is still increasing.
Health surveys reveal that an increasing number of people are suffering from one or more chronic illnesses.
The incidence of various disorders, including diabetes and obesity, are increasing throughout the Western world.
There has been no increase in total life span or longevity over the past century. Although we are managing to p...

Don't you think that heart disease and cancer death rates have increased because other causes of death have been eliminated?

Don't you think that people have always been suffering from chronic illnesses but no one ever knew because no one knew about the chronic illnesses?

Don't you think that diabetes and obesity in the west are better problems to have than rickets, scurvy and malnutrition; problems which were prevalent when my parents were children?

Did your information regarding increased life spans come from your the folks teaching your classes?

I fully support you in your decision to not see doctors, take medications or seek cures for yourself when you get ill. Good for you. Spread ...

excellent comment deancameron. Welcome to clipmarks. You will notice the irrational fear and hysteria are thick here. Logic is rare here and it is so refreshing when I see it. Thanks.

Hi Wilhelm & deancameron,
1. The fact is a fact is a fact! A lot of doctors are like that.!
2. If you really browse the net to learn a lot, you might have come across hundreds of sites like drmercola.com and newstarget.com etc. where they present such facts with ample proof.
3. Finally, the clipmarks is not a place of the irrational fear and hysteria; I am proud to be a part of the site. There are wonderful and fabulous people here! If you only watch our clips keenly, you will realize that!

I am aware. Doctors are wrong more than they are right. My comment was about irrational fear. However, I will not even begin to parse the entire argument and point out the fallacies as it would be futile.

I guess I don't understand what is irrational about any of this. We are talking about a patients right to information. Are you saying it is irrational to expect a doctor to explain a diagnosis. Is it irrational to expect your physician to take the time to answer questions regarding treatments. A person should be fearful if a doctor is unwilling to take the time needed for the patient to be fully informed. Or are you saying it is irrational concern that the cure may be worse then the disease or that the pharmaceutical they are taking may actually kill you. (Opps recall.)
When you deal in facts you should be concerned. Now if you could please supply us with some facts to ease our minds ...
