hitchhiker08 says: Interesting, hard-hitting & debatable... I want one! Being from W.Va, everyone had guns because they hunted...and everyone before that. People protected themselves from animals and robbers. Most of the guns we have are shotguns and rifles which were passed down. However pistols are kept for personal protection from home-invasions and taken when we go on trips. Damn, I agree with Jatfla!!!! I'm packing tons of heat here! And it WV now Jatlfa Here's my disclaimer: I hunt, I own a gun, I am not for totally banning guns, but I am in favor of controlling what types of guns are available for sale, how they are sold and to whom, and I am for strengthening law enforcement to combat the illegal import and distribution of those types of guns I would like controlled. What I wonder about is the amount of time people spend away from their homes and outside of their cars. Are we actually making more guns available to criminals who are more likely to enter your home or car while you are away. I have also talked to some females, who now carry weapons because they had been attacked, and asked whether they felt they would have had time or the ... "....machine guns, .50 caliber sniper rifles capable of bringing down planes, high capacity clips..." In this I think we can agree. I don't believe they are even up for discussion. Concerning female (or male) protection...who knows whether a person would have "time or the opportunity"? It's not the law-abiding citizens who are making our society more dangerous. We are being forced to live among dangerous criminals, drug addicts, sexual predators, etc.... It wasn't always so pervasive. Now it is and getting worse. I am thinking not only do I pack tons of heat, I also have been known to shoot a groundhog for supper and serve it up with ramps. Damn, I love WV "To disarm the people is the best and most effectual way to enslave them." You know what Blueridge? That is an interesting comment. Damn I love firearms. I love shooting them, I love collecting them, I have a permit to carry a concealed, and I shoot in a range often. But I sometimes think I have bought into that great big line of SHIT that I need to be fearful of something. Someone is gonna break into my home or someone is gonna rape me (oh gawd, sorry that already happened). Maybe I'll be raped again on my jog? You never know, huh? So sometimes hubby freaks out and insists I carry my concealed during my jogs on isolated trails. And sometimes I do and sometimes I don't. And sometimes I feel like Anne Frank for loving my fellow man and believing in the bes... Debbyski, I'm going to give this clip a pop because of your comment. You have such a way with words. |
