This was really his answer! Man, Edwards is about the most slippery politician i've seen. he is actually trying to spin his year at a hedge fund as a learning experience about poverty. does he really think that people are this stupid? i can't wait to find out how much he got paid for this "learning experience." apparently that will be disclosed next week.

That was a stupid response. Was that really what he said?

It would have been much smarter to say "to make some money".

But Eric, I disagree that this shows how slippery he is, the slippery ones are the ones you still like. (not to be too cynical).

Ah, you too Eric. Welcome to the club. Its soooo frustrating that a nation of over three hundred million citizens , many many briliant minds and honorable people cannot do better than present its voters with such a lack-luster line-up of candidates.

All I can do is point out the Chomsky quote again this time with emphasis added:

"when you can't control people by force, you have to control what people think, and the standard way to do this is via propaganda (manufacture of consent, creation of necessary illusions), marginalizing the general public or reducing them to apathy of some fashion."
