Did you know that originally carrots were not the orange colour they are now? When they first brought them to North America they looked like parsnips. They developed the orange colour so people could tell the difference between carrots and parsnips because parsnips are so yucky. There is nothing worse than biting into what you think is a nice sweet carrot and finding out it's one of those yucky parsnips.
