They should just leave the poor guy alone or at least give him a psych eval (Mitigating circumstances) Yes, the risk of being a permanent cripple is what would scare me. Would you not need to be at least temporary insane to dream this up. Would the negative publicity not out weigh any public order benefit accruing? Now the world knows of their desperation and stupidity. Just how bad is it over there? How many decades for a failed suicide? Has it to be much more than a dead leg or is that an attempted dead leg.
