diodisegno says: Better believe it. The U.S. Navy calls it an "exercise;" simply a show of force for the good of the Middle East. The underlying assumption, of course, is that the U.S. is unquestionably benevolent, and anyone the U.S. calls an enemy is unquestionably evil. Clearly, the exercise is nothing more, and war will only start when the enemy attacks us without any provocation whatsoever. Just like they did in Iraq. Just like they did in the Gulf of Tonkin. Just like they did in Hawaii. Just like they did in Texas. Just like . . . There goes the price of gas! I wondered why gas jumped up 30 cents... That will be a worse war for the USA. There are no sitting ducks like Iraq. And even the Iraq-War was apparently lost... Here is a guy who will never ever learn... Thank you, lordthor. I couldn't agree more. Whatever you think of Bush, he's not dumb enough to start something with Iran, at least as our current situation in Iraq stands. Silly children. We would never invade Iran! We would however 'support any necessary action of our allies to insure the safe return of one of their own,' or some such justification.... The U.N. said no to Iraq and we did it anyway.... BTW, if you think this is just a show of force perhaps you can tell me why we are wasting military resources with a show of force when tours are being extended for troops daily, and we have recently learned that there isn't even enough equipment for the so-called "surge," in fact it has just been reported that the military plans to 'share' equipment to make sure all soldiers are adequately protected! "the UN said no to Iraq" huh? I believe the UN said we should make Iraq pay for kicking out our WMD inspectors, but we're not going to do it. Of course, this is the same groups of scumbags that took millions of dollars in bribes to look the other way during the oil for food situation as well. Good work. |
