Couldn't have put it better myself

I make my eggnog with equal parts Bourbon, VSOP Brandy, and Captain Morgan's Rum.. Yum Yum.

For me, Christmas is about getting family together, givin' and gettin', presents, a holiday ham with deviled eggs, salads, rolls, and my sister-in-laws' rum cake. In short, it's about the perpetuation of tradition and conjuring the magic our parents created for us in our youth. Little Baby Jesuses' birthday is one day after mine and I'm glad to share the glory of it all.

The Christian church appropriated December as a way of stopping the pagans from using that month to celebrate Winter Solstice.

Other methods to encourage people to convert to Christianity, such as burning at the stake, came later. :-/
