That's what they get for removing the medium range antisubmarine mission from the S-3B Viking.

As a former aircrewman trained to hunt subs, we knew this day would come soon; imagine a 2 Billion dollar Carrier Task Force wiped out by a 200 million dollar submarine.

Oh, and Iran has three of them, and if I recall, North Korea has a fleet of nearly 200.

WASHINGTON (AFP) - A Chinese submarine approached a US aircraft carrier in the Pacific Ocean last month and surfaced within firing range of its torpedoes and missiles before being detected, The Washington Times has reported.
