Al Gore is an idiot. Renewables are a good idea as long as it's not corn or crops since there's not enough land to grow what we'd need and it affects the cost of food that we eat. Wind, garbage, wave, solar, thermal all fine but all many years away from being capable of replacing fossil fuels as the main source of energy.
By the way, he showed up at this speech in two HUGE SUV's that remained running while the drivers waited for the Gore family to return. Oh, and his usage of electricity in his Tennessee home actually increased from the time he got criticized the first time.
He's a hypocrite and like many leftists, wants you to do what he tells you to not what he does.

Perhaps you are right, I don't know the man enough to judge his integrity. Yet, there is a lot of sense in what he says regarding the direction the energy economy should take.

You don't remember how he talk to Ross Perro? His presidential campaign? His speech on Martin Luther King Day few years ago? His integrity is above any doubts.
