I think we already knew this and it's interesting that the AP is actually investigating & reporting it.

The WH plans to "fix" these errors. I wonder how they'll go about doing that. Does this mean that the university in Michigan (I think) will lose it's money to study volcanos in S. America?

It means they will take the AP aside and have a little talk with them.

I don't know if that's grant money the U of M is getting or stimulus money. Either way, a college that spends millions on their football team doesn't need our money. And about this thing called government grants, we haven't even had time to look at all the corruption going on there. As for the rest of Michigan, I haven't heard of any stimulus money coming here at all. I can't imagine the state with the highest umemployment rate not getting any so maybe I'm just not hearing about it. However when it comes to what the government does with our money, nothing surprises me anymore.

Do away with the football team and the college would lose money. The football programs at major colleges more than pay for themselves and usually help pay for many of the other athletic programs at the university. Being one of the top programs in the nation, I bet Michigan makes quite a killing on their football program, even after a disastrous year like they had last year.

Ouch, that's really rubbing it in. Believe me, the U of M and/or their football team doesn't need public money. For that matter, the U of M doesn't need their football team for money either. I realize that U of M is unique in many ways and I didn't mean for my comment to sound as though I was talking about all college teams.

There are many college football teams that bring lots of money to their colleges. I know of 2: FSU and Florida. I wish they'd stop raising the salaries of the professors, administrators, and tuition though. It's becoming ridiculous.
