Amy had once been a popular teenager who enjoyed running and writing poetry. She also loved the sea.

Thelma, from Sedlescombe, East Sussex, said at the time: 'It is horrendous. She was my daughter, my best friend, everything. How could anyone do this to her?

'She was such a lovely, bubbly girl with so much to live for.'
