willhelm says: Peruse article to see what I mean. Simply the biggest bunch of idiotic bunk I have ever seen from a major news source and, boy, have I seen some bunk. Have you no humility at all, willie? I'm not suggesting that these reports are absolutely correct, but even a super-cursory look at our planet as AltLiberal has offered in his Too Much Crap clip suggests that we just aren't doing so well as shepherds of the planet. To think that we couldn't kill that which sustains us is surely "the biggest bunch of idiotic bunk I have ever seen" from any supposedly intellectual individual. I have no understanding how you square such arrogance with the faith you so publicly express. Cleaning up a mess is a far cry from the end of civilization. There is no over-population and there never will be. Anthropogenic global warming is an obvious lie to anyone willing to engage in a survey of the science. As for my humility, I'll leave that for you to decide. As for arrogance..It is far less arrogant to think that any activity I engage in contributes zilch to global warming than it is to believe that eating tofu, driving a prius, or buying carbon credits is an act that will "save" the planet. As for my faith? Well, I don't frankly know what this has to do with my faith. I suspect I have a more "green" lifestyle, love for nature and the outdoors, and respect for the planet ... They are trying to convince the world. It's sick. There is nothing of the sort around me and I don't live in a bubble. I know bad things are coming, but they're nothing like what these people are talking about. We have been entrusted with the care of our environment. We are to rule over it...not it rule over us. It's as though the world's thinking...or the thinking that we read about every day, has been turned upside down. The divide among us in Western Civilization has never been more pronounced and that is frightening. The traditional home of the Communist Party in America used to be labor unions. Since the number of those unions have diminished since 1980, the Communists and Socialists have found a new home in the environmental movement. Those on the left use environmental concerns to oppose free market capitalism and expanded industry, justifying it as a great evil largely responsible for the economic inequalities throughout the world. AltLiberal has offered in his Too Much Crap clipSo nature has become their God. Looks like recycled stories from the 70s where only the names and dates have been changed. Generation Dumb - the educrats and teacher's unions have done fine work. Nature isn't your god? Hmm... that's a toughy. Here's a test. Place an unpunctured plastic bag over your head and seal it tightly around your neck. Leave this in place for, oh, say 10 minutes. Let me know how you do. I'll wait. Now what was that BS you implied about nature not being your god? Sorry, I can't hear you. You still there? Didn't your almighty pull you through? You know, that perfect one who created you in his image. Didn't think so. Sorry about that. Now, those of you still with me, take notes on this important lesson you seem to have a problem grasping... IT'S NOT NICE TO FUCK WITH MOTHER NATURE! Idiots to the man. Let's please not have f-bombs on my clips, bartender. Thank you. It's about all I can do to remain civil when reading an 'opinion' like that. I happen to obsess over reading reports about events in the world : celebrity and radio talk shows don't cut any ice over reality. Nor, admittedly, is scientific theory a unanimous and authoritative voice : though the curator of the Smithsonian quit over government mucking with responsible reporting of powerful scientific concerns. Our society is supposedly protected by restrictions on known harmful practices. A very little imagination about what it might be profitable to pervert or ignore in the way of evidence should even expand greatly about a basic problem with that scenario : What you don't know most certainl... |
