ratcatcher2 says: At a hearing in Edinburgh yesterday, Megrahi's lawyers claimed that Scotland's chief prosecutor, the lord advocate Elish Angiolini QC, had indicated she wanted to release the documents but was unable to because of objections raised by the foreign secretary's lawyer, the advocate general, Neil Davidson QC. Maggie Scott QC, for Megrahi, said the secrecy order raised constitutional issues since it threatened the independence of the Scottish prosecution system. Lockerbie: Pan Am Flight 103 A popular theory for which no evidence has been produced suggests that the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) had set up a protected drug route from Europe to the United States - allegedly called Operation Corea - which allowed Syrian drug dealers to ship heroin to the US using Pan Am flights. The CIA allegedly protected the suitcases containing the drugs and made sure they were not searched. The CIA HAD to be in there somewhere I guess no? So, AAIN the british goverment get away with it!! AGAIN @ Shaor: The UK Govt. have got away with murder for years, from India (Ghandi) to the problems they created in the Middle East (Irak, Israel and many more problems with borders, etc are due to the UK and their divisions of the land) AND the surprising thing is that the majority of Brits don't know about it because they have never read about it in the press. The UK, with all it's freedom, is only told about what is PC and the rest, they are left in ignorance about. Look up the history of Ireland in Public Libraries, you may be lucky if you find anything at all!!! And the English sure made the Irish suffer over the years. Trouble is that you have to live abroad and have access to other co... Actually there is more evidence that Lockerbie was a permitted Iranian retaliation bombing in return for the U.S. shooting down an Iranian airliner earlier. "An eye for an eye", in other words, officially permitted to avoid larger conflict. From the powerful article I linked above: Libya played no role in the bombing over Lockerbie. Iran funded the downing of Pan Am flight 103 in retaliation for the shoot down of an Iranian Airbus commercial flight by the U.S. Navy cruiser USS Vincennes few months previously. The Damascus-based Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine General Command (PFLP-GC) was suspected by British and American investigators in the early years of the Lockerbie probe. All the evidence pointed that way, until the administration of President George H.W. Bush decided to blame Libya. "And now you know...the rest of the story". Here is the news footage of the Iranian Airbus shoot down on LiveLeak, which the U.S. confirmed. This was Iran's "Lockerbie" that never gets any press, but was proportionally identicle to the latter incident of this subject. |
