I can't believe carrots really used to be purple! And here we are worrying about tiny little modifications like adding calcium!

Hi Eladora

From as far back at the 10th Century, the crop grew purple in India, the Middle East and Europe, with its origins traced to Afghanistan about 5,000 years. (BBC)
