Best interest of both Israel and Palestinians to do so

As long as the Israelis stop the occupation, demolishing Palestinian homes to build their settlements and murdering innocent Palestinians. Truth is that people on both sides are tired of this conflict, it is the extremist on BOTH sides that keep this nightmare going.

I think if Israel thought for a second that Obama might make good on any insinuation of sympathizing with Palestinians, we would quickly see a repeat of the USS Liberty incident, except with Palestinians (or possibly Iranians) as scapegoats.

Moral relativism is the most insipid of human failings.

I guess you would just say that Jesus' death was no different than the other two that died with him that day? Makes no difference if they were murderers or God's son, they should all be accorded the same outrage?

No moral relativism to speak off. Those who have committed wrongs should pay the consequences. As for running bulldozers over people, the Israelis have done so. They have also bombed streets full of people, they just do it from 20,000ft, demolished homes and stolen land and invaded their neighbors.

Situational morality appears comfortable but it is not moral at all.

And what does Jesus has to do with anything?

I don't think Palestinians should get by with any more than Israelis get by with. But the numbers of the dead are vastly higher on the Palestinian side of the fence - and the dead usually include children and non-combatants. Palestinian rockets, for instance, have killed around a dozen Israelis in the last few years. Israeli air strikes, by contrast, kill over a thousand a year. We're talking about a nuclear power versus a third-world country. I'm simply saying that Israel should be held to the same standard that it demands of Palestinians, get serious about peace, stop making new settlements on Palestinian territory, and that the USA should leverage BOTH to keep their promises.
