Brilliant! Out of service use a cell phone. If you had a cell phone, the sign wouldn't matter much. I can't see the crisis number, for anyone who did have a phone.
One of the advantages of taking a cell phone to a bridge suicide, is that if you remember it's your last chance to get something off your chest, you can call someone even if you are half way to the water. But you have to be quick.

I have run across that bridge numerous times and never noticed the sign or the phone. I guess I was too busy looking at the wonderful scenery.
