Looks like some of the photos I've seen of Woodstock from 1969. Hugs, two fingers in the air, people laying around in the dirt.....not that there is anything wrong with that. If the subway could get me to Stonehenge, I would SO be there. I never got round to visiting the Stones, myself; although I did see them as I flashed by on the motorway en route to the Glastonbury Festival, once. All that litter - left by people who, supposedly, revere the Earth - really pisses me off. Perhaps I'm just getting old. I'll be writing letters to the editor of the 'Times' next. the last time I visited them, they had it all cordoned off so you could only walk withing the ropes around the site. they tried to stop all the damage to the stones, seems like they gave up on that idea! i so think it's way fuckin' cool that britain has a druidic/pagan(/whatever you wanna call it) tradition. i'd love to see people in the states walking abouts in some of that garb! |
