Godfrey Daniel says: I have zero interest in Celebrities so I have no interest in this extension, and haven't installed it. As soon as I saw it I thought of you and thought you might want to check it. You're an Extensions junkie, aren't you ? I recently trimmed back from over 100, to 86. I'm so proud of myself. Ah, I remeber those days. I reduced them to 50 last summer and now it is under 15. Under 15! How is that even possible?! Oh my, I think I have two extensions. Should I be embarrassed? No, but you are totally missing out on the glorious richness of the true Fox experience. Let me know what you have, and I'll give you some must-adds. I'm like bignosemousie. I only have the Gmail Notifier, Colorzilla, and the StumbleUpon toolbar that I never use since I've discovered Clipmarks. Ok, Thief, here's your first move--dump Notifier, and check Gmail Manager And, no need to abandon The Stumble, just hit alt F1 when there's a lull in your browsing life. I'll give you some must-adds.says the man with 86 extensions. It's from testing so many that I have discovered the must-adds. ....chasing dfiskey....... Ok, I give up. She's either unbelievably unobservant, totally disinterested, or has me blocked. I haven't seen dfiskey around much lately. True. I'll pop this when I see her clipping. Geez, All I have is clipmarks and temporary inbox. Debby, I'm completely clueless as to what your comment means. She's referring to the extensions she has. Thanks, Sohil. "Temporary inbox" is an extension? This is really getting funny. I wonder if this clip will remain alive, and yet still unnoticed by Miss Fiskey for a full month? Ok, I just found Temporary Inbox. I use TrashMail which seems to be very similar. Almost a month now Ok, now officially one month. ok, ok.. first off... i am a little embarrassed to say, i think i'd really enjoy this extension!! 2nd-- thank you for thinking of me, even though, again.. a little embarrassing! and 3rd...if i was popping/commenting during this time it was random.. my grandmother passed away the week this clip came out- so i'm assuming that is a valid enough excuse for my absence from the site... i'm a clippy thru & thru..if i'm absent...it's usually for a legit reason it's nice to know i was missed though!!!!! Do you really have that many extensions? More now. Back over 100 again. I love Cooliris, EQuake, and Colorful Tabs! I only have Clipmarks. I had another one but I couldn't figure it out. What would you suggest? Do you mean in terms of toolbars, or extensions in general? Condolences on your Grannie's passing, Miss Fiskey. I think your missing the clip was due to other factors, however. I'm guessing that you don't use the custom tab, or that if you do, you don't have all options--or specifically "comments"--selected. Am I right? GD there is something firefox related that I'm looking for and you being the guru of all things extension may be able to help me. Is there a toolbar or extension that is a dictionary? I'm constantly going to an online dictionary to find the correct spelling or word (tisk tisk my public school education... I even went to public universities is that worse? That explains my horrible grammar, punctuation and math abilities but I do have a winning personality) Do you have one to suggest? Do they even make one? I will bow and your throne and wait for a response. I'm giving you a preemptive Thank You! Lots of options. Answers is very good and very fast, as is Clusty, which offers more options, and is a toolbar. Define Word is very bare bones and simple, as is DictionarySearch. Cooliris is known mostly for its preview function, but also includes search and dictionary features. I should clarify that Clusty, in addition to being a toolbar (I seldom have it open), also has context menu functionality, as do the others. Bravo! I downloaded Answers and Clusty and they did just what I was looking for. Thanks a lot! It's sad when I am spending my Friday night looking for just the right Firefox extension. At least it was successful. I used to use Clusty most often, but a few months ago Answers updated and achieved lightning speed, and now it's my primary. I downloaded them both to see which one works best for me. So far in my minutes of use I like them for different reasons. Answers give me all the information. Clusty can give me just a definition. I'll keep tweaking it but I just needed something so that I didn't have to keep going to a dictionary website. I think Ive had the MW toolbar before but I never really liked it. Plus I'm pretty new to FF. Only since November when I got my new laptop. Answers can give youi just the definition as well. All you have to do is click a word using preset keystrokes, mine is cntrl+alt+left click. Your's using both via the context menu aren't you? Oh, by the way. DefineWord is not working for me anymore. Until just now, I'm not sure I've used it since upgrading to FF2.0.0.1, and that may be the reason. It still displays in the context menu, but doesn't function when clicked. GD, I just wanted to let you know that I've been using both Answers and Clusty all the time so thank you for the suggestions. Just this morning I was typing up a memo and wanted to use the phrase "front door to our agency". My brain was working at a less than desired capacity and all I knew was that I wanted the word door but I couldn't come up with the correct phrasing. So I went to both typed in door and figured it out. |
