That is so wrong. How can they get away with doing that? This is an issue that I wish I knew more about: 'patenting' genes...Corporate 'rights' are criminally out of control in general. I am still learning how it all works and what it all means. It is illegal for me to witness a catastrophic traffic accident and fail to 'render aid.' How is it, then, legal for pharmaceutical companies to deny life-saving treatment to those who can't afford it? I guess that they aren't close enough to the 'scene of the accident.' I realize that this kind of argument is a slippery slope (We can't legislate morality)...and I'm just keeping an eye out for good ideas. Money, money, greed greed, where will it all end? |
