zero point field theory sounds like as good a theory as any to explain the universe Yeah, but to equate it to the Divine is a strech. Still interesting.... Quantum Vacuum, used to be called the True Vacuum, also Virtual Reality, should hardly be called a vacuum at all. If you evacuated a light bulb to as near a perfect vacuum as our present methods will allow, there is still enough energy in there to blow up the cosmos. Quantum theory is really really really strange!! From one perspective the universe and we are waves of mainly empty space, time does not exist. From another, we are creatures with constipation, Iraq and wailers of existential despair. The quantum stuff is really interesting related to consciousness and so on, but I have a gut reaction against Deism, even though I think its main criticisms of traditional religion are sound. Maybe just a projection of my gloomy personality, but still think dark nights, moratl exile, via delerosa , constipation and the gnashing of dentures are where I dig my holes. Is the universe an embryo? The universe is like an Aero Bar, it's the bubbles of nothing that makes it really something. Is the universe an embryo?Maybe so Pokkets. Is the universe an embryo? All embryos grow toward there inevitable death. I wrote the above clip, and I agree with abailart... That although All that is very nice, but the actualities of life dampen any awe we may have in the mysteries. When I am hungry, no amount of High Kabbalah and Physics is going to quell my hungers. Only the substantial facts of a nice cheeseburger are going to suffice. If you like my work, try my blog site www.jonathanbethel.com Love the site, Jonathan. The exciting conflation of imagination and intellect nourishes wonder and gratitude. Our suffering, impermanence and despair are not the cries of a miserable wretch but elements in the deep mysteries of our being, positive foundations of compassion, treating one and another with care, love and respect without which we may indeed as well realise the fantasy of leaving the human situation behind and becoming every bit as unproblematic as a giant computer. Sorry for the delay in replying, abailart, I was out of town. Thank you for the compliments. It is indeed our personal sorrows and inequities that gives rise to the compassion that pours forth and that this world so desprately needs. I, however, believe that the synergystic nature of our universe is always striving to follow the evoltionary path that was seeded into it from the zero point field, and that aspects of chaos and disorder are being erased. I realize that according to the Second Law of ThermalDymanics that this is an impossibility. Nonetheless, synergy still takes place... It is a conundrum! JMB And I hope you are right! In the meantime, thank you for replying: I will continue to joy in wonder of the universe, reap the rich grace of consciousness's evolution, and maintain as central to life the gravity of compassionate human relatingness. Hard to explain but everything will be all right! Indeed!!! As they say, "It's All Good!" It be be fine! It is great to meet high minded individuals with a compassionate heart. The world is in desprate need of people who want to ease suffering. It is so beautiful to watch consciousness's evolution unfolding before our very eyes. I truly believe that minds are coming together through the internet that will bring the critical mass to fruition. The internet is the hardwiring of the noosphere. JMB BTW, my email address is on my blog site, if you would care to have a private correspondence. JMB |
