Wisediver -- I have seen this report before from another post hear or somewhere. I still question the validity. If SETI had received the signals, then they would certainly have recordings. If the gov't is trying to block the signals, then the way to get people to rally behind is to release what they recorded to the public via the Internet. Since that has not happened, I think this is a hoax at this point.

Honestly - I would love to believe it and hear the recordings, but no one has proven otherwise. So if Dr. Greer, really believes these were ET signals then get them out on the Net. There are tons of Ham Radio people, linguists, etc. that could be used to make sense of the signals.

My other reaction is that if someone was sending signals to us, then they are probably more advanced then us, since we are here and they are out there. Thus, I think they would be smarter then NASA,CIA, etc. Besides -- NASA does not jam signals. If anyone would jam signals it would be the NSA.

Anyway.... Art Bell's show does open one's mind to many possibilities. Until I see, hear or get introduced to ET, I will not be convinced that we have made contact. I am 100% behind the concept that something more exists out there - but they are smarter then us here on earth and would avoid us

Greer doesn't have tapes of signals. He said he was told by three different people -I think 3, at least 2- connected with SETI about this, reliable sources I would imagine. Art Bell asked him about ham operators etc and Greer explained that the frequencies that SETI is listening to is far beyond ham radio; I didn't quite get this part but I think SETI is somehow turned to "hydrogen" molecues. That doesn't make sense to a lay person such as I, but "hydrogen" is what Greer said. But after all, ham operators don't communicate via X-rays either.
