bignosemousie says: While in Ravensbruck Concentration Camp, the barracks were infested with lice. Corrie and her sister praised God for the lice, because the guards refused to enter their barracks for fear of getting infected. Can you imagine? That is truly seeing the silver lining. Pop for the comment, BNM. Many, many years ago she came to our town and I heard her speak. Amazing woman is an understatement. Thanks mousie. Many, many years ago she came to our town and I heard her speak.I would have loved to hear her speak. How lucky you are! Mousie, she was a big-boned woman. Her accent was very thick so you focused on every word. What impressed me the most was that Jesus Christ was a real to her as the person sitting next to me. In light of all she had endured and all she had lost, her faith was amazingly strong. It gave you chills when she described her jailer coming to her and asking forgiveness. Even then you could hear the tension in her voice; it was as though she were reliving it all again. And when she finished and described the peace that she had, you knew that you had just (in a small way) gone through it all with her. None of it was fairy-tales; she had lived to tell us about her reality. Thanks for sharing that with me, Jatfla. Her faith is contagious. |
